Coug Prints Q&A

Emailing a file to a printer

How do I email my file to a Coug Prints printer?

  • First time users, swipe your CougarCard at any Coug Prints printer in the Libraries, at the Markets, or on the CUB first floor.
  • Send your document as an attachment to coug.mobile.prints@wsu.edu.
  • Include a subject line and text in the body of the email so that your message will be less likely to be caught in WSU spam filters.
  • Suggested format:

To: coug.mobile.prints@wsu.edu
From: your.name@email.wsu.edu
Subject: print job for Coug Prints Mobile Printing
Attached: your file.docx; your other file.pdf

How will I know the file was received?

You should get a reply from coug.mobile.prints saying:

How do I pick up the print job that I emailed?

  1. Walk to any Coug Prints printer location.
  2. Swipe your CougarCard with Cougar CASH.
  3. Select your job.

Print quality

My printed page didn’t look like I expected it to look.

Please contact a key operator (on-site support personnel). You’ll find contact information in the instructions posted on the printer, under the heading “Questions or Concerns?”

Error messages

When I swipe my card I get the message, “User locked on iMFP3.”

You have swiped your CougarCard on multiple devices. If you cannot log off of one of the devices, please contact a key operator (on-site support personnel). You’ll find contact information in the instructions posted on the printer, under the heading “Questions or Concerns?”

When I swipe my card I get the message, “Card type not recognized.”

The card you have swiped is not a CougarCard. Only CougarCards are accepted.

The printer displays this message: “There is no valid printer for printing this job from this station.”

Coug Prints printers use only letter-size (8.5” x 11”) paper. If you have received this message, your print job specifies another paper size. Change the page size setting in both the print driver AND the page-setup to “letter,” then resubmit your print request.

When trying to send a print job, I get this message: “Cannot connect to host on port 28203.”

You will need to update your host file.

PC users: Download and run the executable batch file. It requires .Net Framework 2.5 or higher. (A download for .Net Framework 3.5 can be found here.) You may need to run the batch file while in “SAFE” mode. If you need help putting your computer in SAFE mode, please contact the Coug Prints help desk.

Mac users: Please contact the Coug Prints help desk for assistance.

The Alert message indicates that my printer is unavailable.

Please select a different printer. If you sent your job to one of the four Market printers, the CUB, or a library, you can redirect it to another printer at any of those eight locations.
